2.  October 11- December 19th

4.  March 21st - June 1st

HOW YOU AS A PARENT CAN HELP YOUR CHILD EARN THE PARTY
  • Set aside at least 20 minutes a day for reading.
  • Ask your child what book they brought home to read.  Did you know we have a lending library at school?  Yup, we do and students get opportunities to check out books each week.
  • Visit your local library and get a library card.  Our local librarian, Mr. Lopez knows all about Accelerated Reader and is more than willing to help your child find AR books.
  • Sign the parent permission slip so that your child can walk to the library with the class to check out a book.
  • Ask your child to see their TOPS report.  This is the report that is generated after a student takes a test.  It tells what book was read, the score, their over all percentage and goals.
  • Your child's teacher is a great resource for understanding AR.  Ask them for their advice on how to establish good reading practice at home.
